Sicily’s highest city at almost 1.000 meters above sea level, Enna lays inland in almost the exact center of the island. The temperature is very hot during summer but the hilltop settings not only makes it more pleasant, but also gives exceptional views from nearly every terrace. This is the reason why it’s called Belvedere of Sicily.
The town is split in two, with a historic hilltop center known as Enna Alta and the modern town, Enna Bassa, below. Enna is famous especially during the Holy Week with its many hooded confraternities processions to follow.
